For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.  2 Peter 1:5-7

Supplement your Faith With Virtue

Since you have faith, supplement it with Vitrue.  This means that we gain a desire for excellence, a desire to be better, to grow, to know that we haven't "arrived" and want to be better in what we do.

... your Virtue With Knowlege

Add to your desire to do better the knowledge of God's Word!  Crucial if you want to grow!

... your Knowledge With Self-Control

Add to your knowledge of the word Self-Control.  This comes through the Holy Spirit and our surrendering to his ministry.

... your Self-Control With Steadfastness

Add to your self-control steadfastness.  This is the ability to keep on keeping on over time and against pressures and trials.

... your Steadfastness With Godliness

Add to your steadfastness godliness.  This is where we begin to see some of God's nature coming through in us, he changes us little by little, and we can see it.

Exceptional Character

... your Godliness With Brotherly Affection

Of most importance in our Christian walk is the way we treat and view other people.  God will build within our lives affectionate love for others.

... your Brotherly Affection With Love

Affectionate love is good, but God wants us to develop deep, selfless, Godlike agape love.  Love that is so strong it gives of self and sacrifices for other people.  It is selfless love.
